April Showers Bring...

Oh, dear, it's been six weeks!
It's time for some CliffNotes. We celebrated our 25th Anniversary with a weekend in NYC, and the highlight was dinner at Mario Batali's ESCA. I'm still thinking about that meal. The girls were on spring break and Carly went to a short camp with the lax team. Sally then came for a few days with the kids, and we toured two colleges that week.

While in NYC, I took one pick of Tom, found a poster of Carly's favorite beverage, enjoyed the music and more at the Tartan Day parade....
The fancy flip-flops and the blue nails? That's Katie modeling her new "custom" ElizaB's--each girl designed a pair for their Easter present. Not really sure where that fits in the dogma.
I'm trying to remember the rest of April....it's been a very cold spring. Except for three days with 95F temps. Tom and Trudy came for a few days and we shared them with Jim and Erin.

My shopping highlight was the Tommy Hilfiger sheets with the "crabs" design. I'm tempted to go back to Macy's to get the other set with the lobsters, but that might be too much....money or design influence.

We're now spending weekends in "Divide and Conquer" especially when Katie's soccer and Carly's field hockey (or lacrosse) are on the same days. Our idea of "ticketmaster online" is hitting the refresh button to sign up for a tournament, AKA the Regional Rumble.

Carol and Tom were in town last week and we had a great time with them on the weekend. First of all, they had an incredible suite at the JW Marriott. Carol and I walked and shopped through DC (mostly Georgetown) on Saturday, and the daytime highlight was Georgetown Cupcake. I was a total skeptic when we saw people waiting in line. Oh, puhlease, how good could they be...? There are no words. Simply none. I'm just planning how to get back there for another Chocolate Squared. In the evening, there were six of us for dinner at Ten Penh with Trisha and Jeff.

Desperately seeking Good Reads: Girls in Trucks -- don't bother. I only read it because I had paid for it. Save your money. Mostly I seem to be reading "how to get into college" and "how to pay for college" books. Those will cause nightmares. Currently on the nightstand: The Second Opinion by Michael Palmer. Darn good. I just wish I could read a few more chapters each night. Coming soon: Donna Leon's About Face. I have it but I am trying to get through some other books first. It's a method of delayed gratification, I hope.
